My Crime, My Sin...

For late in the day, Under the cover of an endless gloom... Memories awaken after you are gone. In the depth of an empty evening, Something stirs deep within my repentant soul. The crime was knowing you, The sin was loving you.

I watch the sky turn and change, Shades of orange, turquoise, white, gray and black... The daylight flees, Pursued by the dark of a blue-black and starless night. The world spins, like a child's toy__ My sun, my light, My joy all banished...

In the depth of a night eternal, Weighed down by thoughts of you... I sink far below an oppressive hell. The Prince of Darkness, amused awaits, Entrapped forever, I meet my fate... The crime was knowing you, The sin was loving you.
